Having more than 5000 years of textile tradition, we have reasons to be proud of this heritage. When travelling in our country, we find weavers and textiles everywhere, each region having its own technique and style and most of our weavers use though the traditional loom, composed by a few numbers of pedals and harnesses or frames.

In Allpa we started doing alpaca textiles with the basic looms and we have gradually improved them. Today our weavers are able to do very elaborate textiles, bedcovers, upholstery, curtains, pillows, wall hangings, duvets with these improved looms.

Their workshops are in the central high Andes and they are an example of organization, improved technique and productivity. This has helped them to increase not only their incomes but also their self-esteem.
