Further to the manifesto we made by end may, Allpa has been strongly involved in the creation of a group related with the improvement of the alpaca conditions in Peru. We started this initiative with 6 members of the Crafts Council Peru and now we are more than 100 participants among private companies, mills, breeders, public institutions, NGOs, consultants, and the academy.
It is very encouraging to see the big interest existing in this subject and we are now working in 3 groups related with breeding, shearing and certifications, commercial and promotion and manufacture issues.
The plans are to prepare projects which can take in the mid to long term to a general improvement of all the supply chain of alpaca.
