OUR TEXTILES DEVELOPMENT

Our designers and artisans propose new textures, graphics, patterns, colors and techniques that merge to create beautiful blankets developed for our catalogs and for our clients.

After starting the weaving of each product, almost every step of the process is supervised to get the best interpretation of the requirements of the designers and this is due to the fact that the development of a new collection involves, in most of the times, a great challenge with many concerns in the course of its elaboration.

TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION

Obtaining better finishes in our alpaca textiles has been a constant concern and important advances have been achieved thanks to the support of Innóvate, organism of the Ministry of Production.

One of the most notable achievements has been the modification of the washing in width machine: built in 2014, by market requirements, this equipment is redesigned to be able to wash fabrics of 2.40 meters wide and more than 200 meters long, all this without breaking or creases, which has allowed to obtain better characteristics of softness and hand for our products with saving water, time and energy per unit washed. Another important result has been the development of a calender of 2.40 meters of useful capacity in width with a system of ironing, with a stainless steel cylinder heated by gas that allows a greater penetration of the steam inside the fiber and improves even more, the quality of alpaca textiles.

HEIMTEXTIL & AMBIENTE

This is the most important Show in the world in Home textiles and is held in January in Frankfurt, Germany. Allpa has been participating for several years here and this 2017 we have seen an interesting recovery of both the European and North American markets in terms of textile demand.

The most interesting thing for Peru is the growing interest in alpaca fabrics in the textiles market. There is an increasing knowledge of the buyer about the properties and virtues of this fine fiber, which competes strongly with cashmir. For Peru it is always difficult to compete on price with products coming from Asia. In this case there is a comparative advantage due to the fineness and quality of the alpaca. What HEIMTEXTIL is for home textiles, AMBIENTE is for home objects. 4,800 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors meet for 5 days at this fair, which may be the largest in the world and which continues to grow.

With him, we had very interesting moments of discussion and analysis of what Allpa's future strategies in product development can be.

The Workshop was an activity organized by Allpa, where the Marketing and Product Development team assisted. We also invited a small group of our Peruvian artisan suppliers and designers with whom we wanted to exchange experiences and to listen their opinions.
