Why alpaca is hypoallergenic

Alpaca clothes

Lanolin is a fatty substance that is found in sheep wool, and it contains alcohols that can cause allergic skin reactions among people.  It requires a strong washing and refinement process to eliminate this lanolin when used in garments or accessories. Lanolin is referred to as wool wax and it holds dust and microscopic allergens

As alpaca does not contain lanolin it does not create this reaction. Finer the yarn, softer is the feeling we will have in contact with an alpaca product. All this makes alpaca suitable for people allergic to wool.
